What does SweEnergy do?

SwEnergy’s journey began with the Skip brand, offering a wide range of food supplements, from vitamins and minerals to products for hair, skin and gut health. Initially, the products were manufactured by third-party suppliers, but over time the company decided to bring production in-house through its sister company, SwEnergy. The goal was to gain full control over the entire process and know exactly which raw materials go into every product.

Today, 15 employees work at the company’s newly built production facility in Ulricehamn, where SwEnergy manufactures food supplements for several Swedish and European brands, primarily in capsule and tablet form.

Why did you choose tracezilla?

We need to be able to guarantee that the food supplements we put on the market are safe. That was the main reason we chose tracezilla.

In the beginning, when we only manufactured products for our own brand, we used excel to manage recipes and traceability. But as the business grew, we quickly outgrew that solution and needed something more robust.

We discovered tracezilla while looking through the available Fortnox integrations. We had previously tested two other systems, but neither met our requirements. We need complete traceability, both upstream and downstream throughout the supply chain, and tracezilla delivers exactly that. It also provides a well-structured way of creating production orders.

Which functionalities mean the most to you?

Traceability from raw material to finished product

Complete traceability is essential for us. When we purchase raw materials, we register both batch numbers and best-before dates. When it’s time for production, we select the relevant inventory batches and can always track batch numbers and dates throughout

the system. The same applies when finished products are shipped to customers. Every shipment is assigned a batch number, and if a product ever needs to be recalled, we can easily trace it all the way from the raw material supplier to the finished product.

Accurate forecasting

The statistics available in tracezilla also allow us to make reliable calculations and accurate forecasts for future purchasing. That has been incredibly valuable. We have full visibility into how much different batches have cost over time, and we can easily compare the cost of a specific raw material across different suppliers.

Efficient production orders

We’ve built a structured recipe setup, so whenever we enter an order, the system automatically generates one production order for capsule and tablet manufacturing and another for filling the finished products into containers. This workflow is smooth, efficient and works very well for us.

A great onboarding experience and valuable knowledge sharing

In the beginning, we received help setting up our master data, including raw materials and item numbers. From there, we tested different workflows, held regular follow-up meetings and worked together to find the best solutions.

For example, we wanted to be able to measure ingredients in milligrams rather than just grams, and tracezilla implemented that functionality for all users.

They’re also excellent at bringing companies in the industry together to share knowledge and experiences.

An important part of our growth

Right now, we’re preparing to introduce QR codes in our warehouse. We already label all our raw materials, and soon we’ll be able to scan everything that’s scheduled for production instead of checking it off on paper. That will reduce the risk of errors even further.

We’re continuously improving our processes and finding new ways to use tracezilla to optimize our operations.

We simply wouldn’t be where we are today without tracezilla. It’s one of the key reasons we’ve been able to grow so quickly while maintaining complete confidence in our traceability and production planning. tracezilla has been an incredibly important part of our growth.
